People say miracles do not happen anymore. This family has been so blessed to see so many! Today, we’ll just talk about the recent ones, because I can’t stop talking about it. The fact that Rich had a pulmonary embolism on Sunday and survived of course blew everyone’s mind. But yesterday, we watched God’s hand move so mightily, that I have to share the story. He has only been out of the hospital for a day. The day before they released him they put a filter in his vena cava to catch any clots headed to his lungs, heart or brain. Around 1:30 yesterday he started to feel dizzy again. He started to get chest pains and felt just as he did the last time he threw a blood clot. As I rushed him up to the hospital, I reached over and he felt so clammy and cold. I figured it was happening again, or he was having a heart attack. I reminded him that I cannot be the ambulance driver and do CPR on him at the same time. He reminded me that we would get there faster than the ambulance coming here first. (By the way, I never liked driving the fire truck, and I never wanted to be the ambulance driver..jus sayin!) After a multitude of tests, it looks as if he threw another clot and the filter caught it. Ok..a big Thank you Jesus! As the final report from the CT Scan came back, the doctor was just as shocked as we were. The blood clot that they saw on Sunday, you know the one that should have killed him? It was completely gone! Hold on a minute? Didn’t this just happen? Doesn’t it take a long time for the body to absorb a clot? Yes, yes it does. As we were sitting there in the ER, Riley asked me, “Why is God doing this?” I looked at Rich last night and gave him my answer. “God was just showing off today.” He got to show so many people His miraculous hand and healing power. You can’t deny it. You can’t explain it away. You just see and believe. So for all of you who do not believe that God is large and in charge and into every little detail, I am here to tell you something different. We are blessed beyond measure. The Lord has such a great work for this family right now and in the future. When you are discouraged, hold on tight to Him. When you feel like giving up, persevere through it, for He is holding your hand. When you feel like everything is against you, know that He is for you. There is nothing our God cannot do! Never forget it! Our family is living proof. So thankful, humbled and blessed. To God be the glory!
