People seem to have completely forgotten that the ANACOSTIA section of Southeast Washington, DC was once more than 90% WHITE back in the 1950s. While the demographics changed quickly in the late 1960s, the rock and roll the kids at Anacostia High School listened to remained constant. This great band, THE DC MAGNATONES, formed at Anacostia High in 1965 and this recording is marked 1966. By 1969 the neighborhood - and the high school - had flipped to 90% Black.
