People share stories of how breast cancer affected their career. One woman writes: I informally discussed my diagnosis and treatment plan with my employer and shortly there after, on my 5th anniversary with the company, I was informed that I did not fit the profile of who they wanted going forward. I was told that it had nothing to do with my performance - I just didnt fit their profile. That was all the explanation that I was given. I regularly surpassed my goals so they really couldnt fault my performance. Ironically, I worked for one of the largest faith based organizations in the country. No, I did not sue - I needed all of my energy to get through the ordeal. I, too, believe in a higher power, and every confidence that God is not blind to how I was treated.
