People sometimes ask me for discounts or why I am not cheaper or dont run Groupons... heres my take on it: 1. I would rather be the best than the cheapest any day. When it comes to someones health, quality of care is the most important. 2. Going along with #1... because I want to be the best, I invest a substantial amount of money each year into my education––books, seminars, coaching, etc. Last year I spent about $18,000 on my education alone via the above outlets. This goes well above and beyond the simple $300 certification and $99 renewal that some would consider enough. Would you pay the same amount for someone (in any industry) with no experience, no education and no investment in themselves as you would for someone with a lot in each of those areas? I know I wouldnt. 3. I put about 90% of the money TGTN makes back into my gym. I want nothing but the best equipment and the best facility for my clients and that can be pricey, but its my priority. As such, my clients essentially are paying for the awesome place they get to train, so by giving a discount I would actually be reducing this benefit for everyone. If someone wants the cheapest gym around, go to Blast Fitness or Planet Fitness, its $10 bucks a month, and heck, they even will give you free pizza at least once per week. If you want the BEST training around... well, the answer to that is individual (no place is the right place for everyone) but I would suggest not using price as your main decision-making factor! You tend to get what you pay for!
