People, supporting someone doesnt mean that you have to gobble up whatever they say. Our Holy Cow attitudes are exactly the reason why were suffering so much today. Politicians are people like us and they come from us. Dont treat them like peers or religious figures because thats not what they are. When you set someone on such a high pedestal and insist on worshipping them then they WILL be your Gods. You treat them as more than human and not only do you do a disservice to yourself by selling yourself short but you also do them a disservice who vowed to serve you instead of it being the other way around. Respect people, by all means. But keep them human. Realise that theyre human and will make mistakes. Realise that youll have gross differences of opinions with them too. Realise that the only things that you can judge a person on are their honesty and their resolve. There is no such thing as a U-turn. People get educated and form opinions on that everyday. Choose someone who speaks to your heart and tries to work for your benefit rather than his own. Dont place men like you in places of worship because you are not perfect and to demand Godlike perfection from your fellow man is not only unfair but also foolishness on your own part. Criticise fairly and express your problems and feelings freely because no one knows what you need better than you do. Take charge of your own governments. Educate yourself. Be honest to yourself and youll never make a bad decision. Dont hesitate to call someone out when theyre doing something wrong because you deserve them being accountable to you. Keep every man in his place. God is enough for worship. (given on what you believe of course.)
