People talk about an end as if it were to happen soon but in order for that to happen Christians would have to be so weak as to be defeated for the name of Jesus.... We as Christians are strong so I dont see that happening anytime soon. It all goes back to personal responsibility. I dont believe God refers to an end as in Corporal Punishment but more of a one on one approach. You can see that when you start seeing God as a Father rather than God who is out to get you. Satan is the accuser God loves you so much he lets you prove him right through your faith in him. Look at the world and give thanks because it was made to be a home for us and thats cool. And since God is your Father why not call on him in your time of need or ask from him when you want something? The people who are not willing to endure this world wish for it to end.
