People think we are Crazy toting our kids every weekend to a horse show or trail ride... Let me explain some of the reasons... 1. Good FAMILY events 2. We have some of the best friends that we would fight a tiger for because of horse shows and trail rides! 3. My girls are learning winning isnt the most important thing... Doing ur best is 4. Life isnt always fair (tough but reality) but it isnt the end of the world 5. You will be recognized for your hard work, maybe not in ribbons, but in the comments by the people that support you and recognize your efforts and willingness to learn to do better 6. Sportsmanship... Always recognize others good points... Even when they beat you 8. Work together for a common goal (even if its just retrieving bridles so the other person can make their class in time or guiding someone thru a slippery spot on a trail) 9. Find the good in every ride, even if the judge fails too see your awesomeness! 10. Always be willing to help someone! ( my girls have been on the receiving end of this many times, but someday they will be the older kids that will have learned from example) These memories i hope will stay with them till they are old and gray. I also hope that these sacrifices keep my family close and active together long after they grow up. So since i cant keep them little forever, i have to combat that with bribes if equine enjoyment... Well if thats Crazy...Commit me and my Family!
