People traveling for the holidays be careful, be vigilant of your belongings, surrounds, and time, and have patience. Time is essential when traveling. Getting to the airport early is a godsend, believe me. But if you are running late, remember that its about the journey, not the destination...sides, youre already late. At least get there in one piece. People who are traveling in cars or its been awhile since youve driven in snow or its your first time driving in winter. Some tips: 1)Make sure your vehicle is properly fueled. Engine will run better and also you wont freeze your butt off going to the closest gas station for a refuel. 2)In the US we have AAA, dunno about other places, but have their number in your cell, or a tow truck option. 3) Start your car and let it warm up a good ten minutes before you leave so the chances of it stalling arent so high. 4) Make sure your breaks are up to speed. 5) Make sure your tires are also up to speed, good for the terrain, and have the proper pressure. 6) Have one of those snow/ice window scraper things in the car and also a shovel in the trunk. I live in Chicago so trust me, its come in handy. 7) Kitty litter actually is a good thing to have if the winter snow is kicking your but. Itll give your tires the right friction to get out if the snow isnt letting your tires move. 8) Gilligan probably thought, we wont be gone long...some of you may be too young to understand this reference but basically and because there was a blizzard here a few years ago and people died because they got stuck in their car and ran out of fuel. Have food, water, and blankets. 9) Always check the weather report...I know the dude lies a lot, but still check and look outside and be your own judge. 10) Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
