People, we need to raise the taxes on capital gains so we can lower the tax on payrolls and salaries. A direct tax of 3% will be allocated from capital gains to medicare and social security. One per cent to the PBGC to shore up its books. Taxing capital gains fairly, will aid in curtailing the one per centers power and influence. A level political playing field, aided by more equitable sharing of the wealth, is beneficial for all. Republicans are staunch defenders of capital gains. They want to exhaust every alternative before it comes to taxing capital gains. It is capital gains that need to be the primary provider of revenue for the government not wages and salaries.
