People who are not neurotypical, or are on the autism spectrum, have different ways of classifying information. They often prefer things to be black and white and fit into neat categories. Caleb and I often have interesting conversations because of this. Caleb: (observing me putting in contacts) Im glad Im not going to be a mom. I dont want to put things in my eyes. Me: Lots of people wear contacts, not just moms. Caleb: (who classifies people by hair color) Then Im glad Im not a Mexican. Me: Im not a Mexican.
