People who call this election a Republican takeover have it completely wrong, and are doing people a great disservice in their choice of language. This was not armed insurrection, it was not a secret back-room deal, nor was it a coup: it was an orderly exchange of power through the votes of our citizens, many of whom are neighbors, friends, and family. We all want a stronger America. We may differ on what constitutes that, but no one voted just to make America a terrible place to live, work, and raise a family. The importance of working together cant be overstated - and if we position this outcome that either party is there illegitimately, it does nothing to create a foundation from which to work.
