People who do Ganapati Visarjan in Lake, river, sea etc. I wonder if they go back to see what happens to idols which were immersed in lake, River or Sea. See photo this is what happens. It’s really very sad for both Ganapati and environment. Authorities are not to be blamed for this. It’s their job to make sure environment is kept clean. Devotees/ people who do Ganapati visarajan in lakes, River and Sea are to be blamed. People have better options like buying Ganapati idols which are made of mud or material which are soluble in water. And do Visarajan at home in bucket or big tanks and later pour that water in garden. One feels horrible to see such sights at lake side / river banks / beach. It’s mockery of faith and rituals. People do Ganapati puja at home, follow dos and don’ts , and after visarajan if this is the state of Ganapati idols then does Ganapati puja have any meaning? Is it worth it? It’s like person is ill-treating and showing disrespect to the god Ganapati by doing Visarjan in lakes/river /sea.
