People who feel sorry for themselves are miserable, and theres no need to be miserable. Shake it off. We have all know people who wallow in self-pity. In fact, each of us has had times when we feel sorry for ourselves. Our circumstances are bad. Everyone hates us. We either think we are the only one so spiritual or we feel can never do anything right. It can make you question the call and/or will of God in your life. Such thinking and feeling does make us miserable. Such thinking is selfish and wrong. And you will feel you have lost some of your greatest friends and sadly it can force the loss of good friendships. Sometimes self-pity comes from jealousy. We see wicked people prospering and getting away with doing wrong. Or we see others that God had blessed but we wonder why we dont see the same thing. The cure for self-pity is to quit looking inward. Its not all about you or me. Self-pity is, at its heart, self-centered. Also quit looking around at others. You need to focus of Jesus, put Him first, put that flesh on the altar and once self is out of the way, we will really see that God is still with us, still wants to bless us, and we realize that friends are still there. So let it go, shake it off , and youll realize that things are really not dramatic in the big scheme of things. Friends and family are not wish losing. Your joy and happiness are too valuable to lose. The joy of the Lord is your strength. Proverbs 15:13 13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
