People who know me know I love SciFi. I love the genre, I love the themes, I love the idea that there is more to this world and beyond that meets the eye (And the rest of the senses). I’ve seen some of the greatest and the worst ‘space-faring’ SciFi movies and still can’t get enough. My favourites take me to a beautiful place that would take a lifetime to try and explain: 2001: A Space Odyssey, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Contact, Titan AE, Europa Report, Sunshine, 2010: the year we make contact, Voices of a Distant Star, Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate Gravity, Moon, Serenity and Firefly. .. Just to name a few... But tonight I saw ‘Interstellar’. I have never seen a more beautiful, profound, mind-expanding, ethereally existential movie in my entire life. The script, the score, the themes, the execution, everything tapped into something so deep within my taste, my sensibilities and my soul. I laughed, I cried, I felt fear and ultimate satisfaction. It’s the greatest thing from this genre I’ve seen in a long time. I can’t give it a 5/5 because the grand scale in which I love these movies won’t allow me to keep within the boundaries of 5 stars. It’s 6/5. It’s a 300 billion/5 stars. Interstellar surpassed my expectations of cinema in an out-of-this-world way. If you love SciFi, you should see this film. If you’ve loved, you should see this film. If you’re a human, you should see this film. Thank you Christopher Nolan for bringing me my childhood and my dreams. “Do not go gentle into that good night...” Be right back, got to go and see it another 10 times. youtube/watch?v=Lm8p5rlrSkY
