People who know me will be shocked to hear that I served a home-cooked feast to 14 people at my home for Thanksgiving. How was such a miracle possible for a non-cook? My wonderful family! My brother Don came early, Tuesday night, to start the preparations. Im in awe of his precise logistics and skill. He planned the menu and cooked a 22-pound turkey, stuffing (2 kinds, regular and vegetarian), gravy (2 kinds), sweet potato soufflé, green beans, a corn and red peppers dish, rolls, a kale salad, a spinach strawberry salad and whipped cream for the desserts. My other brothers wife, Beth, made mushroom pie, pumpkin pie and cranberry sauce. My daughter-in-law, Chelsea, made mashed potatoes and fudge. Brendan made a rum cake. I helped where I could, cleaned the house and took care of details such as providing plates, napkins, wine and the turkey. Here are a few photos of the result:
