People who play final fantasy: football have to admit theyre as dorky, if not more so, than getting into any other RPG. I was assured that it was fun and easy to get into so long as I just read some stats, forgetting that I dont ever watch sports, so all of that is extra work to plunge into a world of non-escapism. Whats the difference between the prohibitive amount of knowledge that one has to have to enjoy final fantasy football, and the enormous dungeon manuals one has to read to be fully immersed in the rules of a tabletop game? Ill tell you: when you tell tabletop players youre not sure if youre willing to go through all the work to play this particular game they know that their pursuit is esoteric and dorky and understand its not for everyone. Sports dorks will make it known youre somehow failing in life if you cant name enough players to fill a team. IMHO, Your fantasies are pretty dull if theres still National Football League in it. I think Ill play stuff that has at least some fun world building in it
