People who want to raise the minimum wage to $15.00 dollars an hour have no idea how the economy REALLY works. Give all of your employees a $7.00 raise, and the price of a $3.00 hamburger becomes $12.00. Plus small mom and pop businesses would go under. The cost of living would go up. Your $15.00 an hour becomes no better than $8.00 because the price of EVERYTHING will go up. You’ll make more money and be in the same boat. It’s called inflation. The heads of these corporations are NEVER going to reduce what they make to make things better for workers. This type of system has been in place in different civilizations over the last few thousand years. It’s almost human nature. So you can petition and stomp your feet all you want. Go on strike. They’ll fire you and hire others. I do not wish to sound defeatist, but realistic. One thing that never seems to change is human greed. The haves do not stay that way by becoming one of the have nots.
