People will walk past a charity collector on the street, make up excuses and turn away door knockers, hang up on charity phone collectors. But if someone asks you to pour a bucket of Iced water on your head and then donate to charity, youll do it? Really? For a charity youve never heard of, have no actual real genuine knowledge, understanding or interest in. But in the name of Charity and Awareness youll do it? *I dont doubt the validity of the efforts. The stats speak for themselves, Millions raised since this started, Great, Fantastic, excellent idea whoever started it, it worked. Im not speaking to the validity of the charity either, it has no more or lessor value due to its size. My point is that THIS is what it takes to get people to donate money? People will gladly pass on donating money every day, but they will take this offer up because they get attention from it? From doing something stupid. Under the guise of awareness & charity. But thats not what its about, they dont care about this charity, thats not why theyre doing it. Theyre doing it for the attention and the validation. Yes, its great that its raising money and awareness. Its just sad that this is what the world is coming to, this is what we need to do to get people motivated to get involved with charity? Its sad.
