People with a sense of entitlement do my nut in. Ive just received - TopicsExpress

People with a sense of entitlement do my nut in. Ive just received a change.org email from some woman with hearing difficulties petitioning LoveFilm to give subtitles with all movies. Apparently, shes receiving a second class service by them not providing these as a default. What she doesnt realise, is she is actually receiving exactly the same service as everybody else... its just that her personal circumstances mean shes isnt happy with it. What she doesnt seem to realise however, is that in life, regardless of our personal circumstances, you dont always get what you want. Where do you draw the line? Isnt it exactly the same as me going to a shop and because I suffer with Arthritis, insisting they install a lower step, so i can get in easier.. and if they dont petitioning them for one? Or even asking if they sell supportive insoles, and when they dont, insisting their service is poor and second class? If a shop doesnt sell the goods you need/want, then you just find somewhere that does. And of nobody does it, then its kinda unfortunate, but youre not entitled to it... unless you choose to create it yourself. Dont get me wrong, i sympathise with people unfortunate enough to have a disability (I know myself how much it can change your life), but if you want to be treated the same as others, and not be discriminated against, then dont pull the poor unfortunate me card, every time something doesnt happen to meet your needs. Its just life, and you have to learn to adapt and accept that some things are just no longer available to you or suitable for you.
