PeoplePRINT did an April Fools Press Release which was referred to in this article as the FAVOURITE!!!!! But my favourite was PeoplePrint.au with their “Reprintable2TM: automatically fix documents after printing“. Not only it was clever – but it also proves my point: I didn’t know they existed until April Fools happened. The tone and premise (promise!) of their prank was spot on with their business brand: they know what their consumers worry about and were able to provide a ‘solution’ to one of the most stressing issues with printing: the possibility of an error in print. By doing this prank they got coverage and good will – and some free publicity. They even managed to use an image of their office that shows real people doing real things behind real screens – and get the human element in the message. I could say the same about Global Edition with their Copenhagen story: I will be checking their news, as they seem to have a decisive approach to journalism.
