Peoples: Some of you send me Kickstarter projects to promote on my page and on my Miras List page. While I use to promote kickstarter campaigns, I find it harder and harder to do this, not because I dont want to support YOU, dear artist, but because Kickstarter is part of Amazon and I am a public person who constantly states that I am NOT a supporter of Amazon and its destructive impact on the book industry and all local businesses/economies, etc. To me, Amazon is even worse than Walmart if that is even possible. Amazon is a devouring monster who treats its workers like shit and is creating chaos in the book world. I support Indiegogo campaigns and other independent crowdsourcing organizations. I realize that at the moment, Amazons Kickstarter platform seems a more viable place to do ones campaign. Their platform gives the artist a sense of more urgency and therefore an artist feels like that is the better way to go. But please consider these other very viable independent crowdsourcing platforms rather than Kickstarter if you are thinking of doing a fundraising campaign. Especially if you support independent bookstores, indie music, small presses, and all things independent and good. Some of you might not agree with me but thats fine. I stand firm in this. So please, if you want my support and my public name on twitter and facebook, etc., and want me to contribute to your project, please consider choosing anything but Amazons kickstarter platform next time around. Thank you! upworthy/the-truth-behind-amazons-success-theyre-kinda-evil
