Communication from UBSA CEO: Dennis Sembuya • He welcomed the distinguished members of the Uganda Press to the home of UBSA, AThina Club house at Kololo • Promised the media cordial working relation as the league is set to keep. Thank them for being supportive everytime they have been called upon. This has helped promote the game. • Informed the Fans, Sponsors, Media and public to expect a thrilling first round competition as all team are promising and have had intense preparations. On the D-Day, sponsors have organsied fan actitivties like cheer leaders, merry making with top djs and fanfare, Entertainment free drinks to lucky fans. It will be a grand opening festival. • The following team were confirmed for the 2013/2014 Pepsi National Beach Soccer League: Zaba SM, Zai Plaza, Buwanika Bulls, Fisheries Institute, Richmond Strikers, UBS BSC, Braza Braza, Mengo International, St. Lawrence University (Defending Champions), Kabalagala Rangers, Stomers BSC, Real Galacticals BSC, KIU BSC, Nkumba Select, Makerere University, Kiira Young BSC. Communication from Head of Competitions-Ali Mwebe Briefing on Fixtures and Match official to officiate the respective games. All games will be played at the two pitches at LIDO Beach. Gates will be open at 9:00 a.m. First game to kick off at 12:00 Fixtures…. Defending Champions (St. Lawrence University) will look to kick off their first match when they play Mengo International in the Hurikken Group. According to the UBSA competitions head Mr. Ali Mwebe, the first games will kick off at 12:00, clubs have been urged to mark time as heavy penalties will be faced including cancellation of the game. Normal Full Time Three (3) points will be awarded for a win after the full time/ end of third period of the match A win after end of 3rd period of the match Two points (2) will be awarded for a win after the third period of the match either through Extra time of 3 minutes or Kicks from penalty mark to determine the winner of the match. Loss of the match 4) In any of the above outcomes, zero (0) point shall be awarded to the looser of the match. Awards and Prizes at Stake………. With the Pepsi Sponsorship on board, The League champions are set to be awarded Two million Shillings (2,000,000) , The first runners up One million five hundred thousand shillings (1,500,000) and Second runners up with………Other awards such as Best Player award, Golden boot award, Best Gloves award, Best Referee award will also be presented at the end of the League games. Said Ali. The Pepsi National Beach Soccer League handbook for rules was later handed over the UBSA CEO by the Head of competitions. Communication Chairman UBSA- Deo Mutabazi Started by thanking the Media for supporting the beach sport this far. “ We are greatful that you have been with us ever since our inception and you are credited for the development of this game” He also urged them to apporcah beach soccer offices incase of any question or inquiries. Deo also thanked the sponsors Pepsi Cola for coming on board. He highlighted that the prizes at stake will see a very a competitive league ever before. The Champions will walk with 2,000,000Ugx, the 1st runners up will awarded 1,500,000Ugx and lastly the 2nd Runners up will be given 1,000,000Ugx. Other awards at stake include among other Best Player of the Season, Golden Boot award, Fair play award and Best Gloves award. Opening day to be graced by Invited guests……......... The Outgoing FUFA President Mr. Lawrence Mulindwa has been invited to open the 2013/2014 National Beach league at Lido Beach, other invited guests expected to grace the opening league matches include the State Minister for Sports Mr. Charles Bakabulindi, Eng. Moses Magogo (FUFA Vice-President and Incumbent FUFA president), Entebbe Municipality council mebers, K.C.C.A officials, USPA President to mention but a few.
