Per request here is the recipe for the baked Mac n cheese Gatlin style the I got from my aunt Joann Smith: Well truthfully there is no recipe, you just boil elbow macaroni and after almost done you do a layer of macaroni salt pepper little pats of butter and shredded cheese (blended mix) do another layer same way and more if its a deep pan. Add extra cheese on top layer. Then pour milk all over but only enough to cover half of pan then bake at 375 for about an hour or until cheese on top if browned. I added bacon that I crisped on a rack over a cookie sheet in the oven. Used over a pound of bacon. Was also told ham can be used. Now I baked it in the crock pot insert to make it easier to reheat at the pitch in! Hope everyone enjoys!
