Perfect Time to make the SHIFT....time is RIPE for this nation to investment in sustainable renewable energy industry. GO for it...better for all the world and humanity. take ALL those 100s millions we been supplementing fossil fuels with and supplement citizens individual sustainable energy. Just think of the long term green jobs. Joann: EVERYONE with their eyes open KNEW that the oil fracking explosion was a BOOM that could go BUST. The greed to maximize exploitation of oil (and natural gas) has caused such a rapid increase in supply that ANY international economic downturn that reduced demand was bound to lead to a drop in oil prices. And since WE wont drop production to support the price, the Saudis declined to also. Any worker who went into new jobs in the fracking fields, getting VERY HIGH pay for their work, should have done like other sensible people do... not live extravagantly and SAVE MONEY for the bad/down times. My hubby entered the aerospace industry- which can be VERY variable as military/commercial contracts come and go. We maximized our 401k savings, so that wed have a cushion for a lay-off fund. Look at the construction industry, which went gang-busters until the housing crash about 2006. The oil fracking industry was supported by $100/b oil, and gas prices at $3-4 a barrel by the rest of the U.S (and world) population. Excessive growth and greedy production is now meeting its consequences, and I look forward to gas near or lower than $2/gallon for many, many months.
