Perfectly stated by a nurse I worked with at Compassionate Care Hospice. Personally as I cared for the dying I always felt as if I were wrapping a gift for God. And every time I used my stethoscope to determine and then pronounce death, it was as if I put the bow on that gift. Their comfort was my responsibility but sometimes nurses have the sacred opportunity of the chaplains, to introduce Jesus to the patient, to practically place their hand into the hand of a Savior they have not yet known, the prince of peace in fact. Holy, holy, holy, thats the ground I felt under my feet at the bedsides of those soonest to be with the Lord. And who knows, God willing I may do more of that on this side of heaven. For there will be no more dying or tears on heavens shores!
