Performance Manager - Chicago Summary: Investment management company seeks a Performance Manager to head up the firm’s performance-related operations. This role reports to the SVP of Operations. Responsibilities: Manage integrity of data in the firm’s portfolio accounting systems and website as it relates to performance/composite information; assist Marketing/Operations/Research/Finance/Fund Administration/Legal & Compliance as needed on performance/composites. Create/verify performance and composite reporting. Performance: Generate/review/verify daily, monthly, quarterly, YTD, and SI performance data/reports Generate/reconcile/distribute performance returns comparisons to custodians Identify clients needing net of fees performance, post fees into performance file for domestic clients Confirm posting by outsourcer for international/global accounts Validate returns for net of fees performance reporting Handle client/consultant performance related issues Validate cash flows/security flow valuation/impact on performance for each account Maintain/verify information for benchmarks Establish new benchmarks/create blended benchmarks as necessary Composites: Set up new accounts/converted accounts/product changes into appropriate composite in accounting system and oversee such functions from separate account platform Establish new composites/close out terminated composites as appropriate; calculate/post net of fees for each Generate/update/validate composite returns on firm website Generate/review/verify composite returns such as researching outliers, reviewing new/terminated accounts, comparing returns, reviewing standard deviation, number of accounts, AUM, etc. Maintain historical records Auditing: Verify accounts terminated have dropped out of composites accurately; verify accuracy of accounts listed Manage annual firm GIPS compliance verification/examination by external auditors Review performance dispersion Process AUM to composite reconciliation on quarterly basis Administration: Manage/maintain representative accounts/performance/composite information on website and intranet site Manage/maintain hedge/disclosures/footnotes Review/maintain current and future consultant questionnaire response templates Review/verify composite and performance RFP/questionnaire responses Reconcile AUM to composite information quarterly Validate performance coding for completeness/accuracy Generate/review/upload to website/intranet page rep account holdings and/or composite information on monthly/quarterly basis Maintain performance/composite macros GIPS: Attend CFA Institute annual GIPS conference/other conferences/forums in order to keep up to date on GIPS requirements. Maintain/review CFA Institute GIPS handbook to ensure policies/procedures are current. Maintain GIPS manual/list of composite descriptions/desk-top procedures New lines of business: Responsible for mapping out GIPS/performance/composite/and reporting requirements as necessary for new lines of business such as new products/investments/types of clients to ensure onboarding is successful. Work with internal parties/outside counsel/auditors as necessary Requirements: Business degree or equivalent, related work experience Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the financial industry (investment management, broker/dealer) CIPM designation a plus Comprehensive knowledge of GIPS compliance/SEC regulations including mutual funds and international securities (derivatives/FX spots/FX forwards/NDFs/swaps/emerging markets/etc.) as it applies to performance/composite reporting Working knowledge of APL Excellent attention to detail; technical/PC capabilities (Access, Excel, Word) To apply, email your resume nathan@bcius
