• Performs installation, customization and maintenance of the network and server operating system and system software products in support of business processing requirements. • Evaluate hardware and replace using OMSA (hard drives, memory, Perc batteries) • Solid understanding of various protocols and services including NFS, DHCP, DNS, IP, TCP, UDP, TFTP, NTP • Use Vspere to set computer to last known good configuration to prevent a boot loop, change the VLAN, and request increase space in hard drive • Prescribes system backup / disaster recovery procedures and directs recovery operations in the event of destruction of all or part of the operating system Clearing log files, foreign disk, setting hot spares)or other system components • Performed service restoration of incidents on Windows and UNIX servers and escalating to the appropriate team as needed (Network Team, Storage, VM Team, and L3) • Familiar with DOS commands and Unix commands (Ping, ifconfig, make directories, mount files systems, navigate through file systems, pulling up hard drive logs, set hot spare and clearing foreign data)
