Perhaps I shouldnt be so polite and helpful when wearing red my favorite color by the way, and especially wearing it to Target stores, which then leads some to believe that I work there, even though I have or had, but based on the color of my top, even if Im not wearing Khakis with the red top, so therefore Im not an employee, someone will still ask me for assistance, be it a price, location or advice on an item. Silly me, I usually assist them and mention that Im not an employee so if they really need a price check, I usually point to a price scanner or show them how to use the red phone in the aisle to set off the call button for help, or I reach for the item (with my vertically challenged self) and help them and I always get a grateful thank you and/or a chuckle of embarrassment from the person when they realize that oops, I color profiled...but not based upon race it was the red shirt which happens to be Targets branding and employee wear color of choice. I guess I should put Jesse and Al on speed dial...wait which Holder relative has Erics number? Pffffffffbt!!! Yes I have once too been mistaken at a formal event for a waitress, gee those black dresses with the tuxedo shirt like collar and long white sleeves can be tricky, but it was a Black person that asked me for a drink..DOH! I will never forget that one. Anyone confused as to what Im referring too Google Michelle Obama and the President talking to People Magazine regarding their experiences with racism..freshly printed. Dont get me wrong, this all not to say that there arent times when its questionable as to why someone thought I was that ONE! No Im sorry I dont get why you would make the assumption that my kids dont know their father or have fathers or that it surprises one that I had my kids at a maturer age and I..gasp...was married and married to the father..those without a doubt show prejudiced beliefs.
