Perhaps at the end of G8 summit, President Putin got his way because Israel was telling President Obama, look we’re a bit worried about you creating an al-Qaeda state right here in what was a quasi-secular government in the Middle East. The success of President Putin is all the more evident as Prime Minister Cameron finally dismissed the idea of removing Assad as the single prerequisite to end the Syrian civil war which, as many would recall, he once so dearly held and vociferously advocated.
