Perhaps fittingly, today looks somber and feels strange. Ill never forget waking up late and not making it to work in the towers today. Ill never forget the smell of the city that day, the genuine fear/discord that came with suddenly realizing the things you took for granted (safety/freedom/loved ones coming home from from work that night) are actually fleeting privileges. Perhaps most important, Ill never forget the acts bravery, compassion and love that ordinary citizens did for each other that day and in the times following. New York, you are gross and dirty and overpopulated but youre apparently also tough as nails and we love you. #Sept11
