Perhaps my walk at the farm this morning was too long. Either that or I was too slow. So the old wood stove at the farm is serving a late, simple, but hearty country breakfast. It is includes crisp bacon accompanied by pancakes with fresh blueberries and topped with real maple syrup. I can handle that. Now a light rain is falling as the farm opens for the day. Good thing last night we picked peas--shell peas and pea pods, as well as green beans (the first of the season) and strawberries last night. Guests will be able to shop for stuff under the protection of the sales stand and this afternoon? We will be off to the farmers market in Merrifield (next to SA from 2 to 6:30 or so). In case of rain the tents will be up and we will have a great collection of early summer produce as well as herb, flower, and vegetable plants for your yard and garden. Join us if you can.
