Perhaps one could sincerely want to change the system from within, but to imagine that this could be done is to have misplaced faith in the system*. Or, if one did not have such misplaced faith, the claim is merely made to appeal to those who do not believe in the system. In short, it is either a case of naivety or one of hypocrisy, and neither case should be supported. *This is with reference to a particular system, not to all systems in general.
