Perhaps the best perk of working at The Tonight Show were the private video feeds we were able to watch in our offices. Very often the L.A. executives were hooked up to New York for corporate presentations. Many were boring, but we all were fascinated when SNL held its annual auditions. Dozens of young performers got their 8 minute chance for fame - most were mediocre. Not this young guy. Notice his first group of impressions are at a higher level than most performers - he doesnt have to announce which celebrity hes about to do. But hes so good, you know instantly. I remember coming home from work in those days and impressing my sons with VHS tapes of these private feeds. But in a couple of years they were downloading everything from the Internet by themselves and saying; Daddy - wanna see the NBC upfronts?.
