Perhaps the hardest lesson Ive had to learn is that if a guy doesnt text you back hes not trapped in a ravine fighting for his life, hes not in a coma, he hasnt been mauled by rabid dogs and he hasnt had his fingers amputated. He just doesnt want to talk. Or, more importantly, he doesnt want to talk to you. I stumbled across this truth on an idle Tuesday when I found myself avoiding calls. The calls werent from a guy but were, of course, from Telstra. Telstra were chasing up an overdue account. I avoided the phone like Ebola. Then it hit me: F#%k. I am to men what Telstra is to me. It wasnt my finest moment but lesson learned. If youve ever been left feeling like Telstra, not all is lost. Maybe youre really annoying and expensive as shit to maintain but theres no denying one fact: Telstra provides an unbeatable service.
