Perhaps this is at first glance a complex text from Angelus Silesius...yet when we surrender to it, its exquisite simplicity emerges. Viewing ourselves from the perspective of soul, or that of God, or eternal self, we also become strengthened enough to make brave, measured, even wise decisions and choices. Making those same choices from the perspective of our everyday self, we are likely to be much needier, more defensive and more anxious. Perceiving ourselves in God - integral to the Mystery, the Source, the All - we may come to understand not only ourselves but also the sacred trust in which all of life is held.
