Periods of rain come and go on the coast, light drizzles on a day with no wind, and it is another good day for the lambs to enjoy the dry of the barn. Meanwhile, the Artful Dodger has acquired an apprentice milk thief. His new brother, the male twin of the mama ewe he adopted, has become a big sneak! While I wrestled a bottle into Ardy this afternoon, I watched in amazed amusement as his brother hid BEHIND another lamb, got onto his knees, and twisted around to nurse off a ewe while she was feeding her single lamb. He had tried a minute earlier and been nudged off by her, but once hidden, had a good feed. I was wondering how she didnt notice that she had ONE lamb, but both udders were being drained!
