Person & Work of the HOLY SPIRIT The HOLY SPIRIT Regenerates Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the HOLY SPIRIT, whom He poured out on us abundantly through JESUS CHRIST our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. [Titus 3:5-7] The HOLY SPIRIT Seals In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the HOLY SPIRIT of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. [Ephesians 1:13-14] The HOLY SPIRIT Baptizes You into the Body of CHRIST For by one SPIRIT we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one SPIRIT. [I Corinthians 12:13] The HOLY SPIRIT Permanently Indwells The SPIRIT of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. [John 14:17] But you are not in the flesh but in the SPIRIT, if indeed the SPIRIT of GOD dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the SPIRIT of CHRIST, he is not His. And if CHRIST is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the SPIRIT is life because of righteousness. But if the SPIRIT of Him who raised JESUS from the dead dwells in you, He who raised CHRIST from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His SPIRIT who dwells in you. [Romans 8:9-11] The HOLY SPIRIT Anoints But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. [I John 2:20] But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. [I John 2:27] *These 5 acts (or works) of the HOLY SPIRIT take place the very moment a person accepts JESUS CHRIST as their personal Savior.
