Personal/Professional Development: Doing audio production work, my - TopicsExpress

Personal/Professional Development: Doing audio production work, my typical personaLmargin for variance, unedited, has been one second either way for years. That is typically. I most usually work with 30 second, 60 second and 120 second audio files. That one second variance self-expectation I look for in myself, to give an example, would be 59 seconds to one minute and one second for an unedited recording in a file I expect to be 60 seconds. I have recently begun to narrow that one second either way variance to look for down to a quarter of a second under to one tenth of a second over, unedited. That means I now shoot for, on our 60 second example audio file, an unedited length of 59.75 seconds to 1:00:10 (a tenth of a second over one minute. The difference is unlikely to be noticed by anyone audially. Were not talking big variances here to begin with and the production software itself adds a variable fraction of a second to each audio file recorded, It gives me another numerical goal to shoot for. I typically cut audio files in one take. Besides, Im almost 50, and the AARP recommends stimulating the brain to keep it from diminishing as we get older! :)
