Personal data has been a hot topic for awhile, so I started to list what data would be easily available for me to analyze: - Bank statements - Credit card statements - Investment history - Career history - Places Ive lived in - People I know, Ive worked with (FB, LinkedIn, email and phone contacts) and communications history, including frequency data - DNA / genetics data (via 23andme) - Medical and dental history, incl. lab test results - Vision plans and eyewear preferences - Gym workout frequency (membership records) - Variable resolution location history - Air travel records (mileage clubs) - Vehicle ownership history (DMV) - Driving record and qualifications (DMV) - Insurance history - Tax records - Movies watched (personal DVDs + online) - Games played (mainly XBOX) + in-game stats - Music preferences (mp3s + playlists) - Food preferences (via cc history) - Items bought and sold (Amazon, eBay, Craigslist) - Chat logs - Social networks posts and comments - Timed weather data - General economical data - Population and census data - Multiple peer group statistics /var/log/messages /var/log/syslog /var/log/auth.log Interestingly some very essential things are missing: my thoughts, feelings, memories, undisclosed desires, fears and dreams. Some of them can be approximated from the data above, but most are still mine. Maybe this also answers the question what is really essential in life (besides regular excercise and diet ;-).
