Personally these have been my two obsessive listens this week. Weve had high sales of the latest foo fighters albums which is great because I ordered about a zillion of them. Though I think the real Gem of this weeks new releases is lost domain by Tim wheeler. Its a bit of a repeated phrase but its a true grower of a album and is utterly utterly beautiful. In his Ash days Tim was never known for his tone perfect voice, I think its Definately improved. But its the lyrics that are the focal point of this album. Its a album about his late father who died recently but struggled for years with Alzheimers. Its powerful and beautiful and not as downbeat as you might imagine. I think Tim wrote some of the great songs of the 90s/early 00s I dont know what hes been doing since, but this is well worth the wait. Especially if you have experienced something like this. The latest crows album Ive been well surprised with. One of my fav bands from my musical coming of age years, last few outings have been poor this is a return and half. Again, its the lyrics Im into, nobody quite writes like Adam Duritz.....its mixture between singing and almost spoken word at times but the lyrics are personal and much like the work on their first 3 fantastic albums. We dont even sell this in the shop, sometimes I just cant inflict my personal wants on the shop else wed go out of business. Give me a yell if youd like one ordering in.
