Persons praying spasmodically are like men that gorge themselves with food and drink on special occasions and starve themselves between the feasts. We do not live from feast to famine when we enter into a partnership with Christ in prayer. In every day life we must give our mental attention to a constant and never ending array of activities and responsibilities. We need to program ourselves to have a default attitude exercise of prayer. In the world of computing the default position is that position or option that the program automatically goes to. It is the position or action that is pre-chosen and happens without being chosen. We can unceasingly pray if we train ourselves to go into prayer when ever we have a moment’s relief from the activities of life. "Prayer has often been compared to breathing; we have only to carry out the comparison fully to see how wonderful the place is which the holy spirit occupies. With every breath we expel the impure air which would soon cause our death, and inhale again the fresh air to which we owe our life. So we give out from us, in confession the sins, in prayer the needs and the desires of our heart. And in drawing in our breath again, we inhale the fresh air of the promises, and the love, and the life of God in Christ. We do this through the holy spirit, who is the breath of our life..."
