Persons with Albinism are an extremely persecuted group. Many - TopicsExpress

Persons with Albinism are an extremely persecuted group. Many suffer daily discrimination. They are also targets of ritual killings (witchcraft murders). The form of these killings is called Muti. In Muti, those who practice the occult believe that cutting off body parts will cause the victims to scream and the screams make the magic more potent. Sometimes, their victim dies due to blood lost. Sometimes, the assailants take so many body parts that death is inevitable. Other times, an arm, fingers, a hand, a leg, or other body parts are taken and the victim lives. In some cases, assailants drink the blood of their victim. Ritual killings are happening in many countries and the body part trade often spans across many borders. In Uganda, children are targeted. In Tanzania, Persons with Albinism are targeted. Witch doctors interact with demons. However, for some witch doctors money is their god and so they do this for financial gain because in a country that is part of the bottom billion (meaning many make less than $1.00 a day), $2,000 US for the arm of a person with Albinism is motivation for witch doctors because they do not know God, have no conscience, and want money. The witch doctors employ people to carry out these atrocities against their neighbors. As for those who go to witch doctors, they are promised a better life; a life of riches, happiness, and sometimes, a promise of love from a charm or potion made of the body part of a Person with Albinism. (In some cases, it is a relative of a Person with Albinism or a neighbor who are involved in the heinous act of maiming and murder.) People of God, Please let us pray for Tanzania and Persons with Albinism in Africa. Also let us pray for the organization: Under the Same Sun (UTSS). UTSS works tirelessly on behalf of Persons with Albinism. UTSS addresses educational needs, safety and well-being, health, community education regarding Albinism, and it globally petitions for the Human Rights of Persons with Albinism. May God Bless the work of their hands and strengthen their faith in Him and their dedication to His calling, in Jesus’ name.
