Pessimism and Christianity dont mix. Why? Because Christians have every reason to be optimistic about life on earth and life eternal. Never yield to gloomy anticipation. Place your hope and confidence in God. He has No record of failure. Sometimes, despite our trust in God, we may fall into the spiritual traps of worry, frustration, anxiety, or sheer exhaustion, and our hearts become heavy. Whats needed is plenty of rest, a large dose of perspective, and Gods healing touch, but not necessarily in that order. So, make this promise to yourself and keep it: vow to be a hope-filled Christian. Think optimistically about your life, your profession, and your future. Trust your hopes, not your fears. Take time to celebrate Gods glorious creations. And then, when you filled your heart with hope and gladness, share your optimism with others. Theyll be better for it, and so will you. But not necessarily in that order. If you cant tell whether your glass is half-empty or half-full, you dont need another glass; what you need is better eyesight... and a more thankful heart.
