Pessimists are formed, not born. Pessimism is a learned response. If you watch a child, you will see the most wonderful example of pure optimism on earth. Children believe everything, and that anything is possible. Then, something happens to them along the way; perhaps at home or in school, or at a relative or friend’s home, that steals or destroys their enthusiasm for life and pure optimism. A change comes over their spirit, evidenced by a negative change in their daily attitude.
