Pet Sematary will always be my favourite King novel. It may not be his best work, but it takes me back to a time when Stephen King was the greatest writer in the world. At least in my eyes. That love affair has long since fizzled out, but I cant deny the influence this book had on my childhood. I loved the movie for all the same reasons, and the practical effects still hold up to this day. The flashbacks scenes featuring Zelda, and Juds mangled achilles heel are pure nightmare fuel. Keep in mind. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile are undoubtedly better movies, and The Mist is probably my favourite overall adaptation.
