Pet of the Week - Stella Stella would like nothing more than to light up your life this holiday season. At 8 years-young, Stella is a bit of a star here at Heart of the Valley. Stella was diagnosed with diabetes shortly after her arrival at the shelter. To put Stella on track to a healthier lifestyle she was immediately put on a weight loss program. We have found that she enjoys chasing lasers more than participating in Richard Simmons’ aerobic routines. We have also found that she absolutely loves to eat canned cat food. We are pleased that Stella’s weight loss and new diet have resulted in blood sugar levels that are holding steady at a much healthier level. Stella looks and feels much better and hopes that she will soon find a home that will continue to help her look and feel her best. Stella is a bit of a diva and would prefer to be in a home without dogs or other cats.
