Peter F. Cuttino built the building that is now McKoon’s Funeral - TopicsExpress

Peter F. Cuttino built the building that is now McKoon’s Funeral home, located on Jackson Street, in 1870. Cuttino was one of the founders and directors of the Newnan Cotton Mill and Newnan Banking Company. McKoon’s Funeral home is an example of a historic home that has been converted to a commercial purpose. This practice, in which a building is converted for a purpose other than that it was designed for, is called adaptive reuse. Adaptive reuse can also be seen in homes that now serve as offices or restaurants, such as Classic Café, as well as industrial properties used for residences, such as the Newnan Lofts. #presmonth
