Peter Jackson has definitely redeemed himself with the Battle of the Five Armies. It was a phenomenal piece of filmmaking that was far superior to first two Hobbit movies in every way, from pacing, to plot, to visual effects - and it is definitely right up there with the three Lord of the Rings films. The only problem with the movie (and it was relatively minor, thankfully) was the pointless and terribly executed elf/dwarf love triangle subplot - whoever thought that one up needs to spend less time watching Twilight.
