Have been member BUPA / associated about 8 years rarely claimed anything.booked into private hospital for sugery on lump on back 5 days ago for Monday comfortable well covered. Got call from surgeon office sayin have no private hosp cover etc expect out of pocket @ $3 -4,000 wife and i been payin approx $110 ftnight for cover that is useless all kids now married away from home. Apparently when wife phoned to " get better tailored haelth insurance inadvertantly changed cover to " family extras" apparently all our kids livin at home ( zero) are covered for private hospital cover but parents ( us the only ones at home) arent 8 years approx $15000 paid Have phoned and discussed with consultant apparently this is the cover were happy to take our money for WTF. Apparently if i need a prosthetic arm or leg i am ok or hit by bus out front of private hospital ok . Fair go guys No blame on consultants they only do job BUT good enough to accept $ for cover totally unsuitable.
