Peter Obi Chairs NEWMAP launch The official launch of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project( NEWMAP), is on going in Abuja at the Transcorps Hilton. The Chairman of the event is Mr. Peter Obi. The organizers, Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the World Bank said they insisted Peter Obi should chair the event because he was its architect when he was the Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum. Other participants are: the Minister of Environment, Mrs Laurentia Mallam and her predecessor, John Odey. The World Bank Country Representatives, Marie Francois Marie Nelly is there, she leads a powerful team from the Bank. The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nkem Okeke is representing Anambra State Governor. All other Governors of the participating States, Ebonyi, Cross Rivers, Imo, Enugu, Edo and Abia are represented. Full story will come at the end of the event.
